September 18, 2020 Fall Arrives
Fall is a tough season. The wonders and beauty of spring and summer recede. The promise of less sun and more cold arrive, the world will shut down, the plants, vegetables, fruits will end, and for honey-bees, the really rough seasons arrive with a question-- how to get through to Spring, alive. I am not yet ready to give up the joys of summer and intend to hold on to these as long as possible. My honey-bees have had a rough month or more, droughts are tough on bees. The yard will demand its usual prep work for winter. Stacking wood is on the docket, checking the boiler, closing down the windows.
